On October 18, 5th and 6th-year students of the Faculty of Law from the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University arrived at the Saint Anthony Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) in Spain as part of the MEDIATS Project “Mediation: Training and Society Transformation”. The University is located in the city of Murcia, located in the province of the same name in southeastern Spain. The province of Murcia is one of the largest educational centers in Spain.
The Saint Anthony Catholic University of Murcia, founded in 1996 on the basis of the monastery of Los Jeronimos, was built in the XVIII century and is the main administration building. In 2012, the number of students reached 10,000.
During the first day of the internship, students had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the building of the monastery of Los Jeronimos and the educational buildings of the UCAM.
Students of the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University undergo internship and acquire mediation skills together with students of Ukrainian universities, such as KROK Business School (Kyiv) and Karazin Kharkiv National University, as well as with students from Georgia.
Despite the quarantine measures, students of the UCAM have the opportunity to study offline and attend practical classes in the usual way.
The internship coordinator is an experienced mediator and doctor of law Maria Mendez Rocasolano, who together with her team organizes the educational process.
Students will have a rich program: mediation sessions, lectures from leading mediators in Europe, and a visit to the Mediation Center of Murcia.
